Protocol Discovery by Network Based Application Recognition (NBAR)

NBAR is a protocol in Cisco IOS which can be used to identify traffic for analysis purposes and QoS markings etc. It is enabled at the back end when we configure class-maps in MQC/HQF in QoS at the moment we enter match protocol command. But statics can not be viewed until we enable it in interface.

Let's enable on a router and see..

R2(config)#interface G0/1
R2(config-if)#ip nbar protocol-discovery

Following command will list the information gathered..
R2#show ip nbar protocol-discovery
